I have been excited for Guardians of the Galaxy for most of the year! After initially thinking ‘Who? Talking Raccoon? Sounds weird?’ the more I heard about it the more on
I confess that the Michael Bay Transformers movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. They are ridiculous, the plots make limited sense, the female role is always essentially “hot girlfriend in
So I went to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 last night! Coincidentally (as it is my Blog Birthday) the first movie was actually one of the very first reviews I ever wrote, on a really old first abandoned attempt at blog. I’ve come such a long way since then.. maybe, possibly..I don’t know. Anyway, I’ve always had a soft spot for Spider-Man. The New Adventures of Spider-Man and X-Men: The Animated Series where my first TV obsessions, back when they were on Saturday morning TV. I never hated those Toby Maguire Spider-Man movies (except for the third one, which was rubbish) but I definitely preferred Andrew Garfield in the reboot, and I have a huge girl-crush on Emma Stone, so I was pretty excited to go and see this.
So the basic plot revolves around an attempt on Nick Fury’s life that leads to Captain America/Steve Rogers and Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff following the trail, as fugitives, that leads to something rotten and EXTREMELY bad at the very heart of SHIELD. Also there is this super assassin/soldier guy called The Winter Soldier in the mix. I don’t want to say more because of spoilers!
I have been incredibly excited to go and see The LEGO Movie! Ever since I saw the trailer when I went to see Frozen, and it looks genuinely hilarious and brilliant. Then I heard about the cast, which is perfect. Critics have been going crazy over it, and my blog reader has been full of glowing reviews. Anyway, point is expectations where high. And I was not let down. This movie is awesome.
